The outer bands of hurricane Frances are just starting to reach my location. It?s off and on sunshine and rain. I am guessing at the wind velocity when I say it looks like 25 miles an hour.  It’s blowing out of the Northeast much like a winter storm with about the same intensity. Melbourne radar shows the very edge of the rain passing the area now. So far all is well but we have a long way to go.

The eye of the storm is 180 miles Southeast of Orlando and forward progress has barely moved in the last hour. It is expected to start moving toward the West-Northwest at 5 miles an hour soon.
