Memorial Day Tribute - President Reagan’s address at Normandy

Ronald Reagan gave a speech on June 6, 1984 at the 40 year anniversary of D-Day.  The GI’s that went ashore at Omaha beach faced death in a scale that was horrific. They did it in order to preserve freedom in America and Europe.

To me, a part of the speech stood out, “From a terrible war we learned that unity made us invincible; now, in peace, that same unity makes us secure.”

Where is that unity 60 years later?  When United States Senators, Congressman and the Press say they support the troops, but viciously attack the Commander in Chief, their words embolden our enemies and in doing so endanger the very troops that they pretend to support.  How do they honor the memory of those brave GI’s that made the ultimate sacrifice on the beaches of Normandy.  To those leaders that attack our nation from within WWII Veterans are not heroes but just another voting block to be exploited for political gain.

America faces grave circumstances today in the War on Terror. Yet our nation is being attacked by our own citizens and leaders. Benjamin Franklin was quoted “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” What happened to the words “united we stand?”  What happened to the unity our nation displayed during WWII?

At what point does free speech become sedition and treason?

To all the brave men and women that stand in harms way today. To all those that paid the ultimate price for freedom so that our nation can be free. This citizen owes you a debt of gratitude that could never be repaid. Thank you, and may God be with you all on this Memorial Day.

Eagle Scout’s efforts ID vets’ graves

It’s Memorial Day weekend, The Sacramento Bee  has an article about a local teenager. The young man undertook a project to place an American flag on the graves of every veteran buried in a local cemetery. He completed the task right before Memorial Day.

My faith in the young people of our nation is renewed when I read stories like this.

Virus Alert - Mac Virus/Trojan Masquerades as a Microsoft Word 2004 Demo

From the unofficalappleweblog, Anyone that is familiar with Microsoft would be highly suspicious of a MS Word 2004 demo that has a file size of around 100kb.  Perhaps the author of this virus/trojan thinks that Mac users wouldn’t be.

When downloaded and executed it wipes out the Home folder.

Turn Your Mac G4 Into A G5

Slip this cover  over your G4 cube and convert it to a G5.  Well, in looks anyway.

Why does a Mac have to look so good? Mac wins against PC’s in asthetics. When I visit the Mac store in Orlando I can’t stop admiring how cool their hardware looks.
